Description

Cut out a simple shape from a piece of paper, place it in a bowl of water, touch the water with a bit of soap. The paper zooms across the water!

What happens if you change the size of the boat? What if you use different paper? What if you try different soap? This could be a quick activity or could be extended for several class periods depending on how you choose to extend the learning.

Do you need your resources to be available online?

  • Import the Word™ documents, activity videos, audio and video recordings, and PowerPoint™ resource to share in your online classroom.

Do you need to create a work packet to send home?

  • Print the independent work packet that includes: the How To worksheet, a short text, and suggestions for extensions!

Are you concerned about students understanding the text?

  • We created videos for the resources that highlight the text as it is read to students.

What if students don’t have all the supplies?

  • Watch a short video showing the activity only or watch a short video that shows the activity while the set up and the science is explained.

What if my students struggle reading the text?

  • Watch a video that highlights the text as it is read to students
  • Choose from English or Spanish text

Suggested answers are included.
