Description

3 Google Slides + 1 Google Form for 3 Collaborative Class Photo Projects.

Students take a photo of themselves and post it into a shared class Google Slides. Each student has one page to add their photo and a description. French prompts are included on each page, in student-friendly language.

Encourages student engagement, collaboration and interaction.

You will receive a Google Folder containing 3 Google Slides to upload into your Google Classroom as "students can edit" and 1 Google Form to e-mail to parents (for photo posting permission).

Used in a Grade 5 French Immersion class. Suitable for Grades 4 to 9. Editable: you can adapt to your class' needs or even subject area. For example, Projet Photo #2 went with my science unit of energy & the environnement.

My students have LOVED these Photo Projects! They personalize the page with colours, fun fonts and graphics. And they really enjoy seeing photos of each other. It's a fun way to connect while at home with a "writing" element snuck in (they must write a description of their photo: where they took it and what is in the photo).

I did one each month during Learn-at-Home. Alternatively, you could do one per week.

Note: I had parents fill out the included Google Form to provide permission for their child to post a photo of themselves. Depending on your school board's media permissions, you might not need this additional permission, if parents already filled something out in September.

Page 2 of each Google Slides has a warning for students to be respectful of each other's photos and descriptions.

The photos included on the teacher page (page 3) in each Google Slides are sample photos. Prior to posting to your Google Classroom, you will take a photo of yourself and add it, as well as a personalized description, as an example for your students. As well, there are 20 student pages included in each Slides, you will need to add your students' names prior to posting, so they know which page is theirs, and additional pages, depending on how many students are in your class. Check out the preview for a visual.

Have fun! It's cool to see the photos each student posts!
