Description

My students need to classify numbers within the real number system, but I don't really like boring worksheets. This activity was inspired by a coworker. The students get a colored sheet of numbers and a Venn diagram of the real number system. They cut out the numbers and paste them into the smallest appropriate subset. The directions also specify that students should label each subset.

The students love this activity because it feels like the "arts and crafts" of elementary.

*I usually require that students get checked before pasting.*

Attached you will also find a copying link to the same activity in a Google Drawings document. Students will drag the numbers and labels into the diagram.

I actually used this in my students Interactive Notebooks. They worked on it as an activity, then we glued it in (I had to shrink it some when I copied it so that it would fit on the composition notebook pages)
