Description

This editable PowerPoint slide deck provides everything you need to help your students use place value charts online for: building; comparing; adding and subtracting; and multiplying and dividing (by 10, 100) using whole numbers from one digit to millions. Different models are used: base ten blocks, numbered disks, and circles. Perfect for distance learning. You can lead a whole class discussion, use for small groups, even make individual assignments because you can make copies of each slide and type in your own questions. You can also open this into Google Slides.

Please watch the video preview to see them in action.

How can I use this for Distance Learning?

  1. You open this file. Read through all the tips and notes. Make any changes and adaptions you need for this class. Make a copy of it (because students will edit it during the group work, so you will want to keep an original).
  2. Create a Shared Link to this file, that allows all recipients to be able to Edit it.
  3. Open your Zoom session for your whole class. Share the link to the file with your students.
  4. Everyone is able to see and edit the slide show together, so you don’t need to share your screen.
  5. Display the slide to explain the frames and students can interact.

or

  1. You can open this file, edit the slides you want to use, and then while in Zoom you can share your screen and move the objects for a whole class or small group lesson.

What is included?

1 editable PowerPoint (.pptx format) with 48 slides

Note: You will need to be familiar with Zoom. You also need to be able to share a slide show so that everyone who has the link can EDIT the slide show together at the same time, using Google or MS Teams. But having said that, you can also just display this in front of your class (or share your screen), and you can interact/edit each slide yourself.
