Description

Love games like Jeopardy and Trivia Crack? Looking for a fun way to engage students during Distance Learning? Want to review material in your classroom and/or virtually?

This Google Slides presentation may be used to create a Jeopardy-style Trivia Crack game for your students. The slides include an EDITABLE template AND a link to a ready-to-play (sample) trivia version of the game (included in the first slide's Speaker's Notes), so you are able to make changes that best suit your needs or you can play right now!

If you're looking to create/customize your own game, the blank template includes rules for gameplay, a scoreboard, a 5x6 grid of questions (30 total), and easy to edit slides that include a countdown timer and custom animation to highlight the correct answer. The slides include hyperlinks, so you can simply navigate to the rules, questions, and scoreboard with just one click. All you need to do is type in your questions and answers, as well as edit any images or categories as you see fit. The Speaker's Notes throughout the presentation include useful directions and tips, and once you click "Present" mode, the presentation is great for both an in-person activity and an online conferencing platform like Zoom. (If you want a pre-made game with all the features but still want to make a few changes, you can also edit the ready-to-play version!)

Note: I've played the sample version for a virtual Game Night with a small group of adults, as well as 6th-8th students during a virtual after-school club, and it was a blast! Using Zoom, I screenshared the Slides, and players responded via the chat feature. When it came time to update the Scoreboard and cross-out selected questions, I simply exited-out of "Present" mode so everyone could see the changes, and then I returned to "Present" mode to resume gameplay. If you are playing with a large number of people, teams work better.

I loved this! The activity was geared toward upper grades, but it was easy to change for 1st graders. They loved it too!
