Description

Space - Themed, project-based activities, perfect for when in lockdown due to COVID-19 and social distancing.

This is a 'space exploration'-themed, home learning project that will be used whilst the children are off school. This resource spreads across 6 tasks (these could be set weekly or daily) which last for an hour each.

This project takes children on a journey to become employed by NASA, conduct research for them and eventually build a rocket to explore the stars. Children will practise a range of writing skills, such as persuasion, letter-writing, diary/journal work and information texts.

This task works well for children ages 7-11. It can be modified to work with a wider audience as editable versions are included.

This download includes:

- PDF Version of the 5-task home learning project

- Links for children to watch ISS astronauts read children's books

- Word Document version of the home learning project

- 3 fonts for editing .docx Word documents

This was a lot of fun to use in the classroom as we connected to space launches. This was a tremendous time-saver and helped a veteran teacher! It is easy to apply to the other school-supplied content resources.
