Description

No time for printing and laminating? This is the Colourful Semantics pack for you! Save these activities onto your iPad or tablet and off you go! These activities are great for children who can focus way better when they are looking at a screen versus looking at paper products. The interactive nature of the game will give their fingers something to tap and the activities are very colourful and motivating! Your students will love this pack.

*NOTE: This product is also available in 'Boom Card' format in a separate listing. This product differs only in that it can be used outside of the Boom platform and saved onto an iPad. Please purchase the one that you prefer!

What’s Included:

“Wh” Detective game: the aim of this game is to teach children the three semantic categories that make up a Subject-Verb-Object sentence. The student needs to find all of the "wh" words in order to uncover a missing treasure chest! A fun and motivating game to teach the categories and colours of Colourful Semantics.

Sentence Builder game: The aim of this game build a Subject-Verb-Object sentence to describe a picture. The child is asked “who” “what doing” and “what” questions until they form a full sentence . There are multiple opportunities to model sentences and have your student produce sentences. The repetition and visual nature of this game will help your student to learn three semantic categories and form SVO sentences confidently!

The colours used in this pack are as follows:

WHO = orange

WHAT DOING = yellow

WHAT = green

Colourful semantics is a therapy approach created by Alison Bryan. It helps children understand how the meanings of words are linked in sentences. Each semantic category/word type is colour coded.

Very easy resource to have to introduce these concepts. Young students love playing on my laptop and got the hang of these ideas really quickly due to this.
