Description
Use this activity to practice calculating distance on a coordinate plane, locating midpoints, and partitioning segments in a given ratio.
In the activity, students locate items at a park and answer questions about relationships between them.
Then, a blank template is provided for students to create their own distance, midpoint, and partition activity. They can trade with each other and try each others’ problems out. I find that having students create questions is one of the best ways to assess their learning and to help it stick!
This activity could be used for practice, homework, assessment, or a mini project.
Answer Key is included.
