Description
Distance-Rate-Time problems can be taught in so many cool and engaging ways! Here I'm offering two Power-points with guided notes that I use every year with my students. Each year I add more 'cool' stuff to keep my students and MYSELF excited about this topic! The Power-points are good for introduction or practice, and whole-class, small group, or center instruction. The example and practice problems vary in degree of difficulty, and are easily revised for any level. I teach inclusion to gifted students, and this worked for all of them. Along with the practice problems, the presentations include music, videos, brain breaks, and real-world connections.
I've also included two practice or homework opportunities and a RELAY race for fun group practice. RELAYS are mine and my students’ favorite way to practice and earn extra credit!
Keys are included.
The topics covered include:
Distance, rate & time calculations
Formula manipulation
Distance ‘triangle” method
Unit conversions
Careers
Problem solving
Standardized test questions
HAVE FUN!

I did not use all of the activities but it was helpful to incorporate some activities.
Great power point on distance, rate, and time. It was perfect for 8th grade.
Thank you!
This was a great resource for teaching the distance formula.

Very well put together!
Fun! Thank you!
Great PPT. Clear. Easy to use. I also like the walk around and the partner Relays. Great ideas. This is why I love TPT.
