Description

This fun and engaging lesson is professionally designed and teaches your students about the distance and midpoint formulas. This animated presentation includes the following:

  • Discovery to connect pythagorean theorem and distance formula (students should know pythagorean theorem first. See my lesson if you need one!)
  • Discovery to connect average to midpoint formula
  • Distance Formula (both formula and step breakdown)
  • Midpoint Formula explanation
  • Examples to complete with students
  • Independent Practice Problems
  • Application Problems
  • Explanation of using formula to find second endpoint

You will need Microsoft PowerPoint to open the lesson. The first slides are not editable. The example and on your own practice slides do have animated answers that will appear when the slide is clicked on. This can be removed by deleting any red font on these slides. See description box at bottom of each slide to see what is animated

The last two slides are a template for you to add additional slides if you want to and the fonts that I used should you want them to match. Please note: the fonts that I used were purchased for commercial use and I cannot give them to you. These fonts need to be purchased and downloaded by you for classroom use.

If you are looking for a guided fill in the blank note-sheet for students to fill out that matches the lesson, you can find that here: Distance and Midpoint Formulas Guided Notes

If you are looking for a practice worksheet that allows students to practice these skills beyond the couple of examples in the lesson, you can find that here:

Distance and Midpoint Formulas Practice Worksheet

If you are looking for a fun activity to practice both formulas, check out this fun self correcting maze

Distance and Midpoint Formulas Self Correcting Maze

You can find the Lesson, Guided Notes, Worksheet, and Maze in this bundle here:
