Description

This engaging hands-on lesson begins with learning how to find distance and midpoint on a number line. It then progresses to applying these concepts on a coordinate grid. The lesson allows students to find answers themselves first to see if they can come up with more than one way to find distances and midpoints. The formulas are eventually given and there is plenty of practice along the way. Students will also see a glimpse of the connection that Pythagorean Theorem and the distance formula have.

To make learning interactive, students will cut out pages to add to their interactive notebooks. You, as the facilitator, have options for lesson delivery, including using a PDF, PowerPoint (PPT), or creating a digital lesson with Easel by TpT.

The lesson culminates in a creative activity where students create a map to assist a community in surviving against Zombie Turtles. Finally, there's a short quiz, which is editable and includes an answer key for assessment."
