"there are so many problems to solve and then match - my kids enjoyed this and I had it on a table as an early finishers activity. The kids recorded their answers on a sheet and check with others. The matching was tricky but they loved it."

Description

Make math fun with this matching card game. It can be used for reviewing or evaluating specific skills. It can also be used as an activating strategy or simply use it on a game day. The game takes approximately 20 minutes or less to play and is quick and easy to grade.

1. Print the worksheet. Card stock is recommended. Card stock will increase the durability of the cards and make them easier to use. Make multiple copies of the worksheet so each student or pair of students can play the game.

2. Always keep a copy of the original as your answer key.

3. Cut the cards apart and save each set of cards in an envelope.

4. Students should orient the cards so the card descriptions are all on the bottom of each card. Each card contains problems and answers around the outer edge of the cards. The students will match the problem on one card to the correct answer on another card.

5. When the game is finished, the reconstructed puzzle will look like the original.

6. To check to see if the cards have been matched correctly, simply have the student record the letter in the center of the cards on the attached Matching Game Recording sheet. Check to see if the letters are in the same order as the original worksheet. The letters in the center of the cards do not make a word or a saying. They are truly random letters.

7. This worksheet is not editable and I do not share the template. If you would like me to create a Matching Game for a skill that I have not posted yet, PLEASE email me at tptsummerking@gmail.com and I will email you a free copy. Please limit your request to 5 skills.

Thank you,

I used this activity for my students who finished work early! They loved how fun it was yet we’re still practicing math. Tip: make sure YOU precursors everything instead of getting them to as it does print in answe
