This is a Power Point Presentation that gives students an easy way to use the Distributive Property of Multiplication. The Distributive Property is a wonderful tool for students to use to assist with Mental Math. After teaching the Distributive Property through using "Alien Heads" this becomes one of my students' favorite strategies to use when solving a multiplication fact. It is not only fun for students, it's very easy for them to understand. This is great for all level learners, from the struggling to the gifted student. This is truly one of the most effective ways to teach students more strategies to multiply.
This presentation contains directions for using the Distributive Property, Steps when Solving multiplication using the Distributive Property, a Journal Question and even a practice page!
