Distributive Property | Scaffolded Notes | Middle School Math
Share

Description

Students can learn about the Distributive Property by watching a video and filling in the notes. The notes also includes practice problems to assist the students in mastering the new skills.

Video Link - https://youtu.be/J-IjLDQhAV8

The video explains the steps to simplify an expression using the Distributive Property. This video also shows how to change an expression with a subtraction sign into an addition problem using the Additive Inverse, or Keep Change Change, which eliminates the wrong sign (negative vs. positive) common error.

I would recommend you have the students work individually so they can complete the video and notes at their own pace. It takes about 20 minutes for most students to watch the video and complete the notes.
