Description
Dividing polynomials by monomials is a great way to prepare students for factoring out a GCF from a polynomial. This set of notes has students practice finding quotients from dividing a polynomial by a monomial, simplifying more complicated expressions, and finding missing side lengths when given the area for area application problems. 15 examples are included.
⭐ DIVIDING POLYNOMIALS BY MONOMIALS FOLDABLE:
- The top flap has students practice dividing a polynomial by a monomial
- The middle flap has students simplify expressions that involve dividing a polynomial by a monomial, after doing other simplifications (such as multiplying two polynomials, first)
- The third flap includes area applications where students are given the area and must solve for the missing side by dividing by a monomial side length
This set of notes has been designed to help students gain comfort with dividing polynomials by monomials.
✔️All examples have been thoughtfully chosen to generate discussions about misconceptions and common mistakes, and the notes themselves have been designed to fit perfectly in an interactive notebook.
