Description

St. Patricks Day Math/Division Center: Do your students struggle with division? Do you want a division math center they could use every day? Are they confused by division word problems? Do they need manipulatives to model the division problem?

Division Hands-On St. Patrick's Day Theme

Division Task Cards with St. Patrick's Day Math Hands-On Manipulatives based on Common Core Division Standards.

There are fifteen different St. Paddy's Day theme division task cards (color and black and white version) ready for your kids to solve each division equation with the pictures/manipulatives to match. This is a great way to practice CCSS with your students!!! Each task card comes with hands-on manipulatives to be able to solve the division word problem.

Included for each word problem:

- printable manipulatives for students to sort/group (enactive model)

- printable array cards for students to start seeing semi-formal groupings (iconic model)

- printable multiplication/division equations to see the connection between multiplication and division as well as begin connecting the formal equation with the process being taught (symbolic model)

The task cards focus on division with a focus on an understanding of division in a deep way. This is a fun way to get students thinking critically about the skills they have learned and allows your students who still need hands-on manipulatives to count out the materials. In addition, it should help your students practice the connections to multiplication as they develop arrays and equal groups to solve the division task cards.

You can use these as assessments, with small groups, in centers, as independent work, etc. Simply print the pages out and distribute to students as desired. Easy to differentiate with multiple ways of using the word problems.

St. Patty's Theme: Gold coins, rainbows, and shamrocks make these a fun addition to your lesson plans and make learning division so much more understandable! Celebrate the holidays while still practicing Common Core skills!

Interpret whole-number quotients of whole numbers, e.g., interpret 56 ÷ 8 as the number of objects in each share when 56 objects are partitioned equally into 8 shares, or as a number of shares when 56 objects are partitioned into equal shares of 8 objects each. For example, describe a context in which a number of shares or a number of groups can be expressed as 56 ÷ 8.
Use multiplication and division within 100 to solve word problems in situations involving equal groups, arrays, and measurement quantities, e.g., by using drawings and equations with a symbol for the unknown number to represent the problem.
