Description
Product Description - Division Stackers are a card set that can be used to strengthen student understanding of what division is. Too often, teachers move onto memorization of division facts without building concrete understanding of what division is. This activity, forces students to match the picture to an expression prior to naming the quotient. Allowing students time to work with these cards will provide lasting meaning for division and increase their fluency when they do begin to work at memorizing and mastering their division facts.
I like using this as a warm-up entry task at the start of a teaching period, or for students who have finished work early and need to stay quiet while others wrap up some work. I've also had success partnering students up and having a competition to see which partnership can get through 5 bags first.
