Description

Ever have a small group of children and you're struggling to come up with a word problem for them to solve. This will solve your problem!

Included in this product are:

  • 15 Division word problems (including both number of group and size of group unknown)
  • Answer Key
  • Recording Sheet (if you want to use like task cards)

There are 2 versions of each word problem depending on if you want students to solve the problem right on the card or on the accompanying recording sheet.

Each card is labeled with a number so you can easily check student work.

Ways to use this product:

Work Space version:

1. Print and have students solve these problems on paper as a quick formative assessment or exit ticket

2. Print & laminate and have students solve the problem on the card in a small group setting so you can quickly assess if students have mastered a skill

No Work Space version:

1. Use as a math station or task cards with the recording sheet if you want students to solve multiple cards

2. Use in a small group when you quickly need to come up with a work problem for your students.

Once you decide which version you want to use, print double sided with the type of word problem on the other side (ex. addition).

Interpret whole-number quotients of whole numbers, e.g., interpret 56 ÷ 8 as the number of objects in each share when 56 objects are partitioned equally into 8 shares, or as a number of shares when 56 objects are partitioned into equal shares of 8 objects each. For example, describe a context in which a number of shares or a number of groups can be expressed as 56 ÷ 8.
Use multiplication and division within 100 to solve word problems in situations involving equal groups, arrays, and measurement quantities, e.g., by using drawings and equations with a symbol for the unknown number to represent the problem.
Determine the unknown whole number in a multiplication or division equation relating three whole numbers. For example, determine the unknown number that makes the equation true in each of the equations 8 × ? = 48, 5 = __ ÷ 3, 6 × 6 = ?.
