Description

This engaging division project can be used digitally through Google or in class as a printable and will prompt students to use their division skills to answer problem solving questions, helping them organize a soccer tournament. Project based learning allows students to use their math skills while being creative and applying their knowledge to real-life situations. All questions in this activity will involve 2 digit by 1 digit division or 1 digit by 1 digit division.

Included in this resource:

There are 14 tasks for students:

Task One: Naming the tournament and choosing a location (creative task)

Task Two: Grouping players on teams (division task)

Task Three: Choosing team names (creative task)

Task Four: Determining player fees (division task)

Task Five: Determining coaches per team (division task)

Task Six: Determining jersey costs (division task)

Task Seven: Designing on team jersey (creative task)

Task Eight: Organizing games (division task)

Task Nine: Determining referee costs (division task)

Task Ten: Determining number of fanes (division task)

Task Eleven: Distributing orange slides (division task)

Task Twelve: Determining number of games played (division task)

Task Thirteen: Purchasing trophies (division task)

Task Fourteen: Choosing the winning team (creative task)

In the PDF, teachers will be given a Google slides link to share with students. All 14 tasks will be on students slides but teachers may choose to assign specific tasks per day or may choose to assign the project for the entire week.
