Looking for a area model lesson for teaching multiplication with the box method? Here's is everything you need for a 2 digit x 2 digit digital math lesson.

How the lesson works:

1. Teacher projects the lesson on the whiteboard while students have a copy of the lesson on their own screen. Math lesson on Google Forms.

2. Teacher guides them through the first problem. Everyone will work step by step on how to construct and break apart 2 digit factors, where to place them in the area model, and then add all the numbers to get the final product.

Once they feel confident with the process, they can independently complete the lesson on their own.

*Students need additional help, have them work in a small group with you to try another problem together and then try it independently.
