Plus they are self-checking!!! That’s right… students can check the answers themselves. This means your students will get immediate feedback, as they "poke" each task card.

By purchasing this bundle, you will be saving 20%.

These Doubles & Doubles plus/minus 1 Poke Cards include:

✔ 28 Addition task cards

✔ Recording sheet

✔ Answer key

✔ Directions

✔ Additional task card cover, directions, and answer key for binder ring.

Each task card shows a doubles, doubles plus 1, or doubles minus 1 addition number sentence, which students must solve. Students are given 3 answer choices on each card. They will "poke" their answer choice and then flip the card to see if it is correct. This keeps students accountable and frees up your valuable time. Add and subtract within 20, demonstrating fluency for addition and subtraction within 10. Use strategies such as counting on; making ten (e.g., 8 + 6 = 8 + 2 + 4 = 10 + 4 = 14); decomposing a number leading to a ten (e.g., 13 - 4 = 13 - 3 - 1 = 10 - 1 = 9); using the relationship between addition and subtraction (e.g., knowing that 8 + 4 = 12, one knows 12 - 8 = 4); and creating equivalent but easier or known sums (e.g., adding 6 + 7 by creating the known equivalent 6 + 6 + 1 = 12 + 1 = 13).
