Drawing in Reverse
Share

Description

Challenge your students' way of thinking by having them create a tonal drawing on black paper by "shading" the highlights and create value and dimension working backwards.

You get:

  • Supply List
  • Detailed step-by-step procedure sheet for students
  • Photos examples of student work

Projects from my store were all designed to fit within one of three units: Drawing Studies, Painting & Colour Studies, and Sculpture & Mixed Media Studies. The lessons have all been created with the intention of allowing student choice while still meeting curricular objectives.

In my Art classroom, I have a "Project Binder" for each grade level that is split into the three units. Students are required to complete a certain number of projects from each unit based on their interests and preferences as the school year progresses. This allows for higher student engagement and more control over their creative journey. It also gives me the opportunity to work with students one-on-one and in small groups regularly as they learn key concepts while actively applying their new skills.
