Description

Task cards are a great way to connect instruction, content, and movement. For this reason, I have been working hard to develop a series of task cards that work for multiple texts.

Each set of task cards has 32 cards focused on a specific part of English language arts instruction, including informational texts, rhetoric, figurative language, literary devices, plot structure and conflict, characterization, theme, main idea, summary, making text connections, making inferences, and research skills.

The cards are available in a .pdf but also as a fully editable Google Slides presentation (which means that all the text is editable) for those teachers interested in going paperless.

With all 6 sets of task cards, you get 192 total cards--that's a year's worth of task cards!

Buying each of the task card sets individually would cost $18, but buying the bundle will save you time and sanity. Buying the bundle is like getting a task card set for free!

ELA Task Card Bundle Includes:

-32 Poetry Task Cards

-32 Rhetoric Task Cards

-32 Plot and Conflict Task Cards

-32 Characterization Task Cards

-32 Research and Informational Text Flash Cards

-32 Figurative Language and Literary Devices Flash Cards

If you're not sure this resource is for you, check out my free ELA Task Cards Sampler!

Since these are Google resources, when you purchase this resource, TPT will create a file in your Google Drive where you will find the .pdf and Google Slides.

I love these. Once printed and laminated, they’re a great early finisher activity or time filler on days with odd schedules. Some of the cards for poetry and rhetoric would be difficult even for me, so I just take those out of the grouping when assigning this.

I found that these were great for giving students options. I would pick a few of the character ones, or theme, or setting, or whatever and let the students choose which one they would turn in to me as a response to the short story. I got great thoughts from the kids and they enjoyed having choices.
