Description

UPDATED: It has been brought to my attention that the dot grid in #1 was not larger enough to accommodate a 24 x 1 array. Thank you for your feedback. The Unit 2 Study Guide has been updated with a larger grid, as well as a smaller number for which students will find the arrays.

Further, while Units 1 and 2 do not have Answer Keys, all subsequent Study Guides will.

Our school has purchased the latest edition of Everyday Math (2015), I have to recreate all the resources that I have found, created, and used with previous editions of EM so that they align with the new curriculum. This study guide is 100% Common Core aligned.

This Unit 2 Study Guide can either be used to study for the test or at the beginning of the unit as a pre-assessment. This Study Guide is formatted exactly the same as the Everyday Math 4 Unit 2 Assessment, using the same problem with different values.

Some content includes:
--making arrays (4.OA.4)
--factors and multiples (4.OA.4)
--extended multiplication (4.NBT.5)
--properties of quadrilaterals (4.G.1 & 4.G.2)
--identify line of symmetry (4.G.3)
--"What's My Rule?" box (4.OA.5)

Know relative sizes of measurement units within one system of units including km, m, cm; kg, g; lb, oz.; l, ml; hr, min, sec. Within a single system of measurement, express measurements in a larger unit in terms of a smaller unit. Record measurement equivalents in a two-column table. For example, know that 1 ft is 12 times as long as 1 in. Express the length of a 4 ft snake as 48 in. Generate a conversion table for feet and inches listing the number pairs (1, 12), (2, 24), (3, 36),...
Use the four operations to solve word problems involving distances, intervals of time, liquid volumes, masses of objects, and money, including problems involving simple fractions or decimals, and problems that require expressing measurements given in a larger unit in terms of a smaller unit. Represent measurement quantities using diagrams such as number line diagrams that feature a measurement scale.
Apply the area and perimeter formulas for rectangles in real world and mathematical problems. For example, find the width of a rectangular room given the area of the flooring and the length, by viewing the area formula as a multiplication equation with an unknown factor.
