8 coordinate plot cards of early American explorers. Engage your students in meaningful practice of coordinate grid math concepts, social studies review, and reading summary and inference practice.
Each coordinate card features the plot points for an early explorer's route that is color coded. This activity is aligned with Common Core Standards for fifth grade which require students to review the following skills:
Nonfiction Summary (ELA)
Coordinate Grids (Math)
Early Explorers (Social Studies)
Geography Points (Social Studies)
The task has been designed to require students to use multiple geography resources including maps, atlases, and globes to discover and infer different Explorer Routes.
These cards are perfect for test prep review, whole class lesson, or small group enrichment.
You can print them all in black and white, however, they are color coded to match with the plots made on the map, so it is better to print them in color.
**ANSWER KEY AND EXAMPLE PROJECT INCLUDED!**
These are meant to go along with Early Explorer Mini Biographies found for FREE on my TPT site.
