Description
This Earth Day Activity is a research and writing project. Students will love researching and learning about the environment with this lap book project! The resource includes brief reading passages on Earth Day, cool facts, an introduction to two climate change activists (Greta Thunberg and David Suzuki), and information on garbage decomposition time estimates. It's everything you need to easily set up this hands-on Earth Day research project in your classroom. The finished projects make a wonderful display.
If you have never used lap books before and are feeling hesitant, this resource is set up to keep it simple and easy-peasy. There is NO double-sided copying with this resource. Photo examples are provided, and directions are worded clearly for student understanding.
Each student needs: 1 normal-sized file folder, copies of the foldables/ resources pages, art supplies, and time to research!
If you don't want to try the lap book approach, but still would like to use the foldables, they are perfectly-sized for interactive Social Studies notebooks. Plus, you can use the information sheets as is!
Here's What's Included:
- Lap Book Pages/foldables
- graphic organizer
- extra decorations to enhance the project
- 4 sheets of information
PLEASE NOTE: The information included is not enough to do a full research project. The information sheets are brief, written in kid-friendly language, meant to pique the interests of your students. However, students in younger grades (or less capable students) can easily complete the research with the limited information provided. This would be if the requirements were to only write one or two sentences per category.
