Description

Earth Day pattern blocks templates are the perfect themed math center for your preschool or kindergarten classroom. Students create a picture and then count how many of each pattern block shape are included in the picture. Includes large templates as well as small cards. 10 different puzzles included (leaf x2, plants x2, earth, globe, recycle symbol, recycle bin, tin can, plastic bottle).

Different versions to allow for differentiation:

  • colors pattern blocks for students to match,
  • black and white, and no lines to challenge students to find their own pattern blocks to create the pictures
  • small task cards that are not to scale
  • collaborative roll and identify activities for students.

Also includes a recording sheet focusing on counting, addition and comparing numbers.

Understand that the last number name said tells the number of objects counted. The number of objects is the same regardless of their arrangement or the order in which they were counted.
Count to answer “how many?” questions about as many as 20 things arranged in a line, a rectangular array, or a circle, or as many as 10 things in a scattered configuration; given a number from 1-20, count out that many objects.
Correctly name shapes regardless of their orientations or overall size.
