Description

This Earth Day roll and cover the number math activity is a fun, interactive way for students to develop number sense skills any time this spring! This makes it perfect for preschool and kindergarten.


Better yet, there is no prep required for you! Just print and play! This is a simple way to add more fun to your math centers or small group lessons this spring season.


While using this roll and cover the number activity, students will learn numbers, counting, subitizing, and addition skills.


There are 4 different number mats for 4 different levels of play. There is a mat for each of the following:


Mat 1: Roll 1 dice for numbers 1-6

Mat 2: Roll 2 dice for numbers 2-12

Mat 3: Roll 3 dice for numbers 3-18

Mat 4: Roll 4 dice for numbers 4-24


To use this Earth Day number sense math activity, students will follow these steps:

1. Roll the dice.

2. Add up the dots and find the corresponding number on the mat and cover it.

3. Keep rolling and covering numbers until all of the spaces have been covered.


Play with a Partner!

Students can also play with a partner. Students will take turns rolling dice and covering a spot on the mat while using different manipulatives to cover their spaces. Once the mat is full, count up the spaces you covered. Who covered more spaces? That person wins the game!
