This PowerPoint lesson aligns with the Common Core State Standards:

STANDARD 7 - The Earth

"The teacher understands the dynamic nature of the Earth and recognizes that its features and structures result from natural processes.

Knowledge Indicators - The teacher:

7C. understands the scope of geologic time and the continuing physical changes of the Earth through time.

7D. understands the interrelationships between living organisms and Earth's resources."

PowerPoint lesson I in the unit "Geologic Time." The lesson outlines the basic events in Precambrian and Paleozoic life in Earth history. A separate student PowerPoint worksheet is also available as an outline to this lesson.

A class activity is included at the end of each Earth/Space presentation. A 20-question interactive quiz/review at kahoot.it and a "quizizz" online activity are also included as links in the last slide.

PowerPoint lessons contain many graphics and links to short videos to further student understanding.

PowerPoint slides also contain slide-sorter notes for the instructor based on student most "frequently asked questions" or FAQ's to help clarify the subject.
