This lesson takes about an hour, but I have used this worksheet with younger classes over two periods.

A research-directed lesson about the Earth's 4 spheres.

Students will:

• Research definitions of each sphere
• Draw symbols to visualise each of the spheres
• Learn about prefixes and word etymology to promote student memory recall
• Research the meaning of each prefix (ie, 'Litho' means 'Stone') to understanding how the terminology reflects and describes the sphere itself

A good lesson for Geography, Science, or English. A word search for fast finishers is included on the final page of the worksheet.
