Each puzzle encourages students to solve math problems, unlock the picture puzzle, and reveal a hidden image they can color once completed. What math skills are included?

► Skip Counting by 5s to 120

► Place Value/Finding how many tens and ones (to 120)

► Ordering numbers (up to 120)

► Adding three numbers (within 20)

► Adding two-digit numbers (up to 100)

► Addition and subtraction (to 100)

► Commutative property of addition

► Telling time to the hour and half-hour

► Fractions/Partition shapes into halves and fourths

► Interpret data from tally charts & bar graphs


How do the Math Picture Puzzles work?
Each puzzle focuses on one or two math skills. Students will first solve the math problems and then cut out and arrange 16 puzzle pieces that correspond to the correct answers. Once all the pieces are correctly matched, they will reveal a hidden picture that can be colored.

Bonus tips for using these puzzles:

  • Laminate the puzzle pieces for repeated use in centers or independent practice.
  • These puzzles are great for self-checking, early finishers, small group activities, and even homework.
