Easy Experiment Scientific Method Lab Nature of Science Practice

Easy Experiment Scientific Method Lab Nature of Science Practice
Product Description
What size parachute has the longest flight time?

Easy to do experiment for grades 4th to 9th. Help students apply their knowledge of the scientific method to this experiment. Recommendation is to spend one day (50-55 mins) on making the parachutes and spend day two testing the parachutes. I put my kids in groups of 4 students and each student made a parachute of a different size.

Students will identify the purpose/question, create a hypothesis, identify variables (independent, dependent and constants), the materials and procedure is given, collect data on the given data table, create a bar AND line graph to decide what type of graph fits this experiment (LINE), conclusion and share results with a different group.

Perfect experiment to assess scientific method

Best part? ITS CHEAP!! All you need are garbage bags (I go to dollar store), String, tape, pennies, permanent market, and a chair.

I shrink it to 85% on a copy machine and we fold and glue so both sides are visible in our interactive notebook :)
