Description
This is an interactive student activity using Google Theme Builder. Theme Builder allows you to “lock” everything you don’t want students to move while adding areas where students can provide input in the form of text or images. To type, they move their mouse over to the provided text box and left click. To add an image in the image area, they simply click the “add image” circle in the middle of the image area and click how they want to add their images. This provides them with clarity and direction without wasting time with formatting. To learn more about Google Theme Builder check out this How-To.
This general format of text and images can be adjusted and used for all grade levels as a quick input activity as long as the information asked for is changed. The key is to make the directions quick and short so students know what to add to the document and where. Simplicity is your friend. To change the directions on each slide, go to the slide and double click on the bold, colorful text above or below the input boxes. For a truly student friendly experience, copy the directions and paste them into the Theme Builder. You can also go in to Theme Builder to change colors, text box size and location, and number of text or image inputs or areas. Feel free to use and change and share this however and with whomever you feel may benefit. Share the love.
