Clean visual presentation that clears up the primary vs. secondary confusion
Rated 5 out of 5
April 22, 2026
My students consistently confuse primary and secondary succession, and this PowerPoint addresses that gap with enough visual contrast to make the distinction click. I used it as my main instructional tool for the succession portion of our ecology unit and the slides are laid out clearly enough that students could follow along without additional handouts. The imagery is appropriate and the progression of slides mirrors the way I naturally teach the concept, which made delivery smooth. Students referenced specific slides when studying for the unit test, which tells me the visuals are memorable. Adding a few embedded student reflection questions within the slides would increase interactivity, but as a lecture tool the quality is solid. Recommended for any biology or environmental science teacher who wants a straightforward, visually strong succession lesson.
