Description

I created this unit in an effort to integrate science, math, and language arts. Students become authors of informational books. They research ecosystems in their chosen biome to create a finished product. Parents and peers come to our book signing event to have their "copy" signed by the famous ecologists. The unit includes vocabulary, quizzes, graphic organizers, planning layouts, and several handouts needed to teach this 5th grade content. Use and adjust everything in the zip file as needed! Includes a day by day layout.

For example, given the rule “Add 3” and the starting number 0, and given the rule “Add 6” and the starting number 0, generate terms in the resulting sequences, and observe that the terms in one sequence are twice the corresponding terms in the other sequence. Explain informally why this is so.
