Teaching style

As an educator committed to student success, my teaching philosophy is rooted in high expectations, rigorous instruction, and meaningful engagement. I believe in a standards-aligned, data-driven approach that not only benchmarks progress but ensures that each lesson builds essential knowledge and skills. My passion lies in curriculum development and lesson planning that integrates literacy into social studies, making history accessible, relevant, and thought-provoking. I design lessons that go beyond textbooks, encouraging students to analyze historical events, develop critical thinking skills, and draw connections between the past and the present. In my classroom, this means using research-based strategies, vocabulary-rich instruction, and interactive learning experiences to foster deep understanding. Whether through collaborative discussions, inquiry-based projects, or primary source analysis, I strive to bring history to life in ways that inspire curiosity and comprehension. Ultimately, my goal is to create a learning environment where students not only meet academic expectations but develop a lasting appreciation for history, literacy, and critical thinking.
