✅ Activities Inside this 3rd Grade Time Math Centers Pack:
- Build the Time: Students will pick a time from a card pile and add the hands on the clock mat to represent the time. This activity is perfect for learners that need extra practice with reading times on the clock and understanding the difference between the minute and hour hand. The set includes digital clock cards with times to the minute. For differentiated instruction, a card set with hour, quarter hour, and half hour times only is also included.
- Clip the Time: This activity is designed to help students review telling time on an analog clock/watch. Students will use the time on the watch including terms such as “quarter past, quarter to, half past” to tell the time and clip the correct time using a clothpin.
- Elapsed Time on a Number Line: Students will solve elapsed time word problems using the number line mat to count the time between a start and end time. This set includes open-ended and multiple-choice task card options.
- Time Review Board Game: Students will solve a variety of time-related questions to move across the game board. Questions consist of telling time on a clock, determining start/end time, finding elapsed time, AM + PM, and more! Questions are self-checking making it the perfect addition to your math centers! (Students can flip cards over to read the answers) This set includes open-ended and multiple-choice task card options.
- Zoo Show Schedule: Students will use the information on the zoo schedule to determine show names, what time each show starts and ends, the duration of each show and the amount of time between each show. This set includes open-ended and multiple-choice task card options.
- AM or PM Sorting: Students will read the time on the clock, record the time, and determine if the activity and time on the task card is AM or PM. Students will drop the card into the correct bag. Each task card includes a QR code version so that students can self-check using a tablet.
- Time Connect Four Game: Students will work with a partner in a competitive game of ‘Connect Four’. Students will pick a card, solve the elapsed time riddle, and add a counter to the time on their mat. The first student to make have four counters in a row wins. This game includes two sets of task cards & mats for differentiation.
- Elapsed Time Puzzles: Students will put start and end time puzzle pieces together and identify the total elapsed time.
- Clock Matching Mats: Students will match the analog clocks with the correct time on the mat using Velcro. This activity includes 3 different mats to differentiate instruction.
