Description

This file contains 20 editable math prompts designed to build your student’s mathematical thinking, generate possible equations for given numbers, and use their mathematical skills to determine missing numbers. Each page contains 30 of the same prompt, designed to be printed on 1” x 2.63” standard 30 per page labels, and added to your students’ math journals, or used as task cards.

I have allowed editing, so that you are able to change simply the number, allowing you to use the same prompts throughout the year, increasing and decreasing their difficulty, for both differentiation, and for your students’ growth in their mathematical skills.

Most prompts have multiple correct answers, allowing for students to discuss their thinking. All prompts are appropriate for grades 1-5, because of the multiple operations possible to determine the number of the day.

All prompts are common-core aligned.
