Description

Students are asked to make sense with numbers on a daily basis. This resources helps improve students' number sense and spatial awareness skills. This resource includes three different resources in one.

Number Puzzle Stories: Includes six different number sense puzzles that help your

students think about math and number relationships. Students are given a story where there are blanks. They need to place appropriate numbers in the blanks to give the story meaning. A number bank is supplied for each puzzle.

Hole Punch Puzzle: Students fold different shapes multiple times and then punch a hole in them.What will they look like unfolded? Includes 10 different puzzles. Students need to use spatial awareness skills and geometry to think about how folds and a hole impact the overall look unfolded.

Shape Puzzle: Students solve the puzzles by using addition and subtraction to find

the missing value. Includes 10 different puzzles. Students use pre-algebra skills to solve for the unknown and then fill in the number to ensure that it's correct.

Students will encounter many math concepts related to measurement, ratios, and magnitude throughout their schooling. Being able to approximate where a number is on a number line is a skill that can be connected back to symmetry.
