Description

This review "escape room" covers science standards usually covered in 4th and 5th grade. This was created from previous state released tests and test resources. The wording is specific to what students will see on their state tests in a few weeks.

Science topics covered in this resource include:

Earth and Space systems

Scientific Investigation

Energy and Matter

Forces and Motion

Ecosystems

Natural Resources (some VA specific content)

Within these topics some questions included are questions that focus on interpreting data and charts to answer questions.

After clicking on an answer choice students will be sent to a celebration GIF and then will click to the next slide

If students click the wrong answer choice, the students will be sent to a "no" or try again GIF slide and will be kicked back to the Candy Room to start again. Students can do this independently and at their own pace.

The clean simple look of the question slides is designed to mimic what the students will actually see on test day. Preparedness is key! If students click on EVERY image in the candy room, they have answered all 30 questions. HOWEVER, it is recommended that students use a test taking strategy and use a piece of scratch paper to make sure they have answered all questions and to go back to any questions they may have missed.

Example of note taking strategy (paper labeled 1-30):

1. Gum ball machine - yes

2. Candy cane - wrong, go back

In order for students to view in presentation mode, you must send the presentation link to the student by clicking 'publish to the web''. If you do not do this the students will be able to see all the slides and it will not be a self-paced lesson.

You can edit questions on any of the slides and the slide links through google will still take students through the candy room. You can edit the slides to make it work for any subject and keep the candy room dream.
