Learning about energy has just become more fun with this set of task cards, activities, and even an energy game!
This resource includes task cards in both black and white, and colored versions (same questions in both versions). This allows you to use the colored version for centers and activities, while reinforcing concepts by printing out a black and white page for a quick quiz or reinforcement after a lesson. Two center/seat work activities are also included, as well as links to great energy Websites, plus an energy game. By the time your students are finished with all of these resources, they will really know their energy facts!
The new Next Generation science common core standards addressed in this resource are:
3PS2.B Types of interactions
Objects in contact exert forces on each other
4-PS3.A Definitions of Energy
The faster a given object is moving, the more energy it
Energy can be moved from place to place by moving objects
or through sound, light, or electric currents
4-PS3.B Conservation og Energy and Energy Transfer
Energy is present whenever there are moving objects, sound,
light, or heat. When objects collide, energy can be transferred
from one object to another, thereby changing their motion.
Light also transfers energy from place to place
Many state standards for fifth grade are also addressed. Please see the energy concepts addressed below to make sure the resource meets your needs.
