The lesson covers fossil fuels, power plants and alternative energy sources using a range of activities. All answers are incorporated into the slides facilitating peer/self marking and timers are used to promote pace. The plenary is an exciting 'car race quiz' where students are put into groups and compete the reach the finish line first, pre-prepared questions/answers included. I usually take the answer from the group to put their hand up first, those who answer incorrectly are frozen out until the next round. A reflective plenary is also included as a back up in case the lesson progresses faster than expected.
