Description

This PowerPoint is for Engage NY/Eureka Math 3rd Grade Module 1 Lesson 6 'Interpret the unknown in division using the array model.' I use it as a visual guide direct from the lesson plan for the students and myself. It helps me to stay with the 60 minute time limit. It is still important to preview the PowerPoint before you teach the lesson so you can make adjustments to your teaching style. There are some notes to help you plan.

My name is Melanie Whitesides but my store name is Wonbyone. I will be posting my other PowerPoints as well. If you like this one, I have others! I hope this saves you time and makes your lesson go better. I also hope you let me know how things go! Thank you!

Standards

to see state-specific standards (only available in the US).
Interpret whole-number quotients of whole numbers, e.g., interpret 56 ÷ 8 as the number of objects in each share when 56 objects are partitioned equally into 8 shares, or as a number of shares when 56 objects are partitioned into equal shares of 8 objects each. For example, describe a context in which a number of shares or a number of groups can be expressed as 56 ÷ 8.
Understand division as an unknown-factor problem. For example, find 32 ÷ 8 by finding the number that makes 32 when multiplied by 8.
