About the store
Hello science teachers! You will find educational resources here that are mainly focused on middle school science topics. Often, we have English learning students or kids at a low reading level in the classroom and I've had a hard time finding simplified materials at a low enough Lexile level. These resources will help you teach grade level standards with clear and simple vocabulary. Some of my resources are at the Middle School grade level, some are modified, and some are a mixture of both grade level and at a modified level. My goal is to create activities that build confidence and knowledge of science without the embarrassment of resources that look too childish for middle school students!

These resources will help you teach grade level standards with clear and simple vocabulary. My goal is to create activities that build confidence and knowledge of science without the embarrassment of resources that look too childish for middle school students!

Teaching style

My teaching style involves a lot of variety! I like to give students chances to use their hands, talk with each other, and solve problems related to science. It's important for students to have enough information to start asking questions and exploring on their own.

Awards & shining teacher moments

I have been a teacher for 20 years, working with 4th, 5th, and 8th graders, and I have learned that building relationships with students is the most important part of the job. Meeting students where they're at and then doing our best to educate and positively influence them from that moment on is the goal. Groups of kids come and go, with so many stories both common and uncommon. It can be overwhelming, exhilarating, supper frustrating, exhausting, and really fun. Sometimes all before 9am! Writing curriculum has always been a favorite task of the many requirements of teaching; it gives me the chance to create what is needed from my personal experiences. Many resources have been tested and fine tuned for years; especially the labs, whole group activities, and projects. The low-reading-level resources have been created throughout the past few years when I had a higher percentage of English Language Learners and Low Lexile Leveled students in the classroom. I desperately needed content for them that aligned with what the rest of the class was doing. I also wanted it to look a bit more grown up. From teaching gifted students to students who need extra support, I truly hope you find my resources helpful.
