Updated 11-11-2021 English and Spanish Bundle of December Math: Solving Story Problems First Grade and Matemáticas en Diciembre: Resolviendo Problemas en Cuentos Primer Grado. Each offers practice with the necessary steps for solving mathematical word problems. The steps included are: read the story, circle the numbers or number words given, underline the key words that indicate what mathematical operation needs to be done, draw the representations of the numbers, write the number sentence, solve, and write the answer. There are two Work Mats with the steps to solving the word problems. One for pasting the word problem, the other to paste a picture (given) that students will use to write their own word problem, then solve. There are 24 addition and subtraction number story problems/pictures to use, and they come 4 same to a page for easier copying for the teacher.. They all have something to do with Christmas and December vocabulary that children hear during this time of year. The stories include numbers in two ways, the numerical and word forms. It also includes a hundreds chart for ten more, ten less, and for students to use to check their work. Some of the problems deal with graphs, more than, fewer than... This is a perfect activity for small group math centers, or for whole class work, and can be used in interactive math journals.
