Need to hit the ground running with Algebra 1 and have no time to plan? Look no further.

This is an entire unit worth of material - approximately 15 class periods worth of lesson plans. This includes our entire unit, Algebra 1 Chapter 1 - The Language of Algebra & Simplifying Algebraic Expressions. It is specifically aligned to the Pennsylvania Keystone Exam & also CCSS. This introductory unit provides a strong foundation for everything that will be covered in Algebra 1 and starts with some scaffolding and review of Integers before jumping into Algebra 1 grade level material on Algebraic Expressions.

• Chapter 1 Lesson 9: Substitution
• Chapter 1 Lesson 10: Substitution Word Problems
• Chapter 1 Lesson 11: Combining Like Terms
• Chapter 1 Lesson 12: Distributive Property
• Chapter 1 Lesson 13: Simplifying Algebraic Expressions
• Chapter 1 Lesson 14: Properties of Algebra

Each lesson comes as a Google Drive folder containing a PDF slide deck of lesson slides that can be used to teach the lesson, a Google Forms practice quiz aligned to the lesson, and an answer key of both the lesson slides and Google Forms Practice Quiz.

This unit also includes a Google Drive folder with a cumulative Google Forms Chapter 1 Review (with 50 multiple choice questions) that can be used as an end of chapter review or assessment / chapter test. Questions are aligned with the chapter 1 lessons & practice quizzes from the 14 lessons. That folder also contains an answer key with all the work shown (where possible) for each question on the chapter review.

When you add it to your Google Drive, it will create a copy that you can use as is, or edit to fit the unique needs of your learners.

The correct answers are indicated on the Google Form so it's ready to auto grade responses for you and give your learners immediate feedback!
