Description

Perfect for Earth Day, or any day, this bundle of mini-lessons is a great tool for teaching about caring for the environment. It combines five of my lessons (also available separately):
:: Greenhouse Gases and Carbon Footprints
:: Surface Area, Best Buy, and Precycling
:: The Costs of Bottled Water
:: Data Collection, Graphing, and Analysis of Vehicle Idling
:: Scientific Notation and Water Conservation

Printable notes with basic facts on the environmental impacts of some human activities are provided in each lesson, along with related math problems including:
-- computation
-- graphing
-- mean/median/mode
-- percent
-- surface area
-- unit conversions
-- unit rate
-- scientific notation

This bundle is a 20% savings off the combined price of purchasing the products separately.

In Greenhouse Gases and Carbon Footprints students calculate their carbon footprints and then determine mean, median, and mode for the class and create histograms.
Surface Area, Best Buy, and Precycling is a lesson in which students determine which size cereal package has the most efficient packaging and costs the least per unit.
The Costs of Bottled Water encourages the choice of reusable water bottles and cups through education.
In Data Collection, Graphing, and Analysis of Vehicle Idling, students collect data on vehicle idling around the school, graph and analyze the data, and learn why vehicle idling is harmful to the environment.
Scientific Notation and Water Conservation is a mini-lesson on water usage and ways in which water can be conserved, with optional math problems involving use of scientific notation.

My newest Environmental Math product, The Benefits of Trees with Coordinate Grid Activity, focusing on the importance of trees in our neighborhoods, is not included in this bundle.
