Description
- This resource is designed to help you teach your students to identify pictures as either depicting equal or unequal as a mathematical term as in ABLLS-R R25 R26.
- First, there are 10 worksheets, each with 4 pictures pair sets, arranged in dyads. One of the dyad reflects “equal” and one using the same materials reflects “unequal” Written instructions ask the student to circle the word “equal” or “unequal” for each picture. There is no particular level difficulty to the worksheets so you may do them in any order.
- Also there are 3 worksheets that are the same format except that the comparisons are made by looking at items in one picture vs. a pair. (within picture comparison).
- There is an “Equal vs Unequal” Sorting Mat on page 16. Print and laminate the Mat as well as print, cut apart and laminate all the pictures pairs on pages 3-12. Give your student up to 4 pictures, 2 that equal and 2 that are unequal and have them sort them out onto the mat/squares provided.
- There are many options for delivery of the lessons.
a. Print and use a traditional worksheet.
b. Cut apart the worksheets in dyads or single items.
c. Print and laminate or use plastic sheet protectors and
wipe-off markers
d. Print, laminate and cut out all the pictures and use them to teach
your students to receptively and expressively identify Equal vs Unequal.
Representations include comparisons in number, numeral, size, amounts length, units of measure, volume etc, all in simple picture form.
