- Included in this resource are notes and examples of using the power rule for derivatives to write the equation of the tangent line to a curve at a given value of x.
- An optional student handout is included.
- I have included screen shots of the graphs of the curves and tangent lines. In my classroom I have students use the graphing calculator to verify their answers. The calculator I use is the TI-84 Plus CE.
- I don’t specify a form for the equations of the tangent lines. On the assignment answer key I’ve included multiple forms.
- In the examples I isolate y purely for graphing calculator verification.
