This Hands On Equivalent Fractions Craft Activity is perfect for an end of unit math art project.

Students decorate 5 different kite templates in a variety of ways and then show an equivalent fraction for their design.

What’s Included:

* Kite templates for fraction equivalencies listed below

* Sample of finished kites

* Patterns for kite bow ties ( 3 styles)

* Pattern for kite tails

* Fraction nameplates to describe equivalent fraction designs

The fraction equivalencies possible with this project allow for differentiation and are as follows:

2/16 = 1/8

4/16 = 1/4

8/16 = 1/2

2/12 = 1/6

3/12 = 1/4

4/12 = 1/3

6/12 = 1/2

3/9 = 1/3

2/8 = 1/4

4/8 = 1/2

2/6=1/3

3/6=1/2
